Paul Weimar, con el nombre artístico de "Shilts", es un saxofonista de Londres, y lleva tocando este instrumento desde su adolescencia. Su carrera de 30 años abarca todas las formas de jazz, funk, soul y pop, ha realizado giras por todo el mundo y grabado con grandes artistas internacionales como David Bowie, Jamiroquai, The Brand New Heavies, Jimmy Paige, Bill Wyman y Dina Carroll. Shilts fue líder del grupo británico de funk jazz urbano, "Down To The Bone", que fue un éxito masivo en los Estados Unidos. El grupo lanzó 7 álbumes y Paul fue destacado, tanto como músico como escritor. Ahora, con 5 álbumes en solitario publicados, es considerado como uno de los artistas Jazz Funk más exitosos del género de este siglo. Shilts actuará acompañado por los músicos isleños Pablo González Pérez, Iván Moreno, Roberto Amor y Horacio Marte.
Paul Weimar, under the stage name “Shilts”, hails from London, and has been playing saxophone since his early teens. His 30 year career has spanned all forms of jazz, funk, soul and pop music, and he has toured all over the world and recorded with a host of international artists such as David Bowie, Jamiroquai, The Brand New Heavies, Jimmy Paige, Bill Wyman, and Dina Carroll. Shilts was the bandleader and front-man of the British urban jazz funk export, “Down To The Bone” which enjoyed massive success in the United States. This group released 7 albums on which Paul was heavily featured, both as a player and as a writer. Now with 5 solo albums released, he is considered one of the world’s most successful Jazz Funk artists of this century. Shilts will perform at Festival Jazz Roja accompanied by the Tenerife musicians Pablo Gonzalez Perez, Iván Moreno, Roberto Amor and Horacio Martel.
